As part of our Eco school application process, we are becoming more environmentally protective and learning the importance of waste management and recycling. Recently all classes had a special visit from Noel Lyons from Arc 21 who organised a series of interesting and entertaining workshops. P6/7 learned all about waste management in NI, the problems with our landfill sites and carbon footprint and what we can do to reduce the harmful effects on our local environment. We used recycled materials to design and construct model planes - but with out any engines, they didn't fly too far, and therefore produced zero emissions!
