P1/2 Outdoor Learning
13th May 2026
Primary 1 and 2 have been making the most of our outdoor learning space during play-based learning. The children have been exploring nature in the forest area; digging, shoveling and raking as well as building campfires and making delicious food.
On the tarred area the boys and girls have had lots of fun visiting our class shop, taking on both shop assistant and customer roles. They have had the opportunity to use coins and the till to buy the products, linking nicely to our numeracy money topic.
The children have showed their creativity skills and have used blocks and other materials to design and build castles, homes and even barns for the farm animals they learnt about in our WAU topic.
All of this wonderful outdoor play is supporting a wide range of skills, including communication and language development, problem-solving, creativity, teamwork, and physical development.
