Our ECO Warriors have been out in force!

13th Mar 2026

At St Michael’s Primary School, our Eco Warriors are passionate about protecting the planet and helping our school become more environmentally friendly. The group is made up of pupils who care deeply about nature and work together to encourage everyone in the school community to make greener choices.
One of our exciting initiatives this year was an Eco Book Swap on World Book Day. Instead of buying new books, pupils were invited to bring in a book they had already read and swap it for a different one. This helped to promote reading while also encouraging reuse and reducing waste. It was a fantastic success, and many children discovered new stories while helping the environment.
Our Eco Warriors have also been working hard to improve how we deal with waste in school. They have been reminding pupils to recycle their lunch-time boxes and packaging, making sure items are placed in the correct recycling bins. By doing this, we are reducing the amount of waste that goes to landfill and helping to keep our school grounds clean and green.
The team regularly meets to share ideas about how we can make St Michael’s even more eco-friendly. From promoting recycling and reducing waste to encouraging everyone to care for the world around us, our Eco Warriors are showing that small actions can make a big difference.

The Eco Warriors are always thinking of new ways to help protect our planet and make St Michael’s an even greener school. They are already planning more exciting activities and projects for the months ahead, so watch this space to see what our Eco Warriors do next!
We are very proud of our Eco Warriors and the positive example they set for the whole school community.
