Our Primary 5/6 class recently took part in a hands-on floating and sinking investigation as part of our WAU topic on Water. The children explored a variety of everyday objects, predicting whether each would float or sink before testing them in water. Afterwards, they evaluated their results by discussing the concept of density and how it affects an object’s ability to float. The pupils were highly engaged throughout and loved discovering the science behind their predictions—an enjoyable and enriching learning experience for all!
