27th Mar 2026

A Sea of Green: Celebrating Irish Week at Our school!

Our Month of Celebration and Diversity is in full swing, and this week has been a resounding success as we turned our focus to the vibrant culture and traditions of Ireland! It’s been an absolute joy to see our pupils so eager to broaden their horizons and embrace the "Luck of the Irish" as we continue our journey around the world.

Kick-starting with Green Day We launched the week with a spectacular Green Day! The school was a sea of emerald, lime, and forest green as students and staff alike dressed up to build excitement for the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. The energy in the hallways was electric!

Language & Learning Our pupils dived headfirst into the Irish language this week. It wasn't just about the "Luck of the Irish"—we got down to the details: Colors & Numbers: We practiced counting and identifying colors in Irish (Gaeilge). Traditional Sayings: Students learned classic phrases and the history behind them, fostering a deeper understanding of Irish heritage.

A Taste of TraditionSchool No cultural exploration is complete without a trip to the kitchen! We hosted a traditional Irish food tasting session where pupils had the chance to sample authentic flavors. From hearty soda bread to sweet treats, it was a delicious way to experience the culture firsthand. "It is wonderful to see our pupils so engaged and curious. Our third week of celebrations continues to be a highlight of the term, proving that our school community thrives when we learn from and about each other!"

What’s next? As we move into the final stretch of our Celebration and Diversity Month, we can't wait to see what aspects of being a diverse community we will explore next!

Thank you to all the staff and parents for always  supporting these brilliant initiatives!
