Hats & Shades is the perfect way to encourage pupils to be safe in the sun, whilst also raising money for children with cancer & their families.
On Thursday 22nd May 2025, our non uniform day, classes will be participating in events throughout the day encouraging them to be safe in the sun. We would please ask everyone to give generously to this worthy cause. So don't forget ur hats and shades for a fun filled day.
Although we don’t see a whole lot of the sun in Ireland, it’s still important that we teach children from a young age about how to take care in the sun – from wearing high factor sun cream, to covering up with a hat and a long t-shirt when playing outside, and especially when the sun’s rays are at their strongest in the middle of the day. Hats and Shades is a campaign that aims to educate children about the very simple steps they can take to stay safe in the sun.
